Poland: New Rules for the Delivery of Clothing and Footwear
Effective March 17, 2026, new SENT system rules will take effect in Poland for B2B shipments containing clothing, footwear, and related goods (including transit through Poland).
These shipments are subject to strict monitoring and may only be transported if the conditions listed below are met.
Current conditions for B2B shipments to/through Poland:
- maximum weight per package: 31.5 kg
- size restrictions: maximum length of one side 1,500 mm, total of length and circumference 3,000 mm
- no limit on the number of pairs of shoes
- combined shipments (clothing + shoes): maximum weight 31.5 kg
- multi-piece shipments are permitted (each package up to 31.5 kg)
- if the recipient holds an AEO certificate or is a Polish government institution, these restrictions do not apply
Shipments that do not meet these conditions cannot be transported and will be returned to the sender. The regulation applies only to B2B shipments (B2C, C2C, C2X, etc., are not restricted) and also applies to transit through Poland, which affects shipments to/from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
Failure to comply with the rules may result in heavy fines. Any penalties imposed by GLS Poland will be passed on to the country of origin, which will then re-invoice these costs to the sender.
These rules are temporary and subject to further change.
