1989
Twenty-five freight forwarders came together to found German Parcel.
1999
Royal Mail Group acquires German Parcel and General Logistics Systems (GLS) was founded.
1999-2002
GLS network was established through acquisitions and the founding of companies in numerous countries.
2002
Launch of the GLS brand.
2008-2015
Launch of GLS' first environmental program, ThinkGreen, continuous network expansion and introduction of 2C services.

Geographic expansion in North America and further investments in network infrastructure.
