GLS Spain closes a year marked by innovation and the expansion of its logistics network

Madrid, 5 November 2026. – GLS Spain has presented its Sustainability Report for the 2025/2026 financial year, a year marked by significant progress in the modernisation of its logistics network, the expansion of its delivery and collection solutions, and its commitment to technological innovation. Coinciding with its 20th anniversary in Spain, the company has continued to strengthen its operating model to meet the changing needs of customers and recipients.

Key milestones during the year include the development of new infrastructure at strategic locations across the country, the expansion of its Out of Home network and the promotion of partnerships that bring parcel services closer to consumers’ everyday spaces. These advances were accompanied by a 15.1% increase in shipment volumes, reaching 159.5 million parcels, and a 12.3% rise in revenue compared with the previous financial year.

“This financial year demonstrates our ability to continue evolving and adapting to the changing needs of the market. We have made progress in modernising our network, expanded our out-of-home solutions and strengthened our commitment to technology as a driver of efficiency and service quality. As we celebrate 20 years in Spain, we remain focused on providing logistics that are increasingly flexible, innovative and close to our customers,” says Roberto Martínez, Managing Director of GLS Spain.

New infrastructure to strengthen operational capacity

The expansion and modernisation of the logistics network was one of GLS Spain’s main priorities during the 2025/2026 financial year, with projects designed to improve processing capacity, operational efficiency and service quality.

Among the most significant milestones is the new regional hub in Zaragoza, a facility with more than 7,000 m² of operational space and the capacity to handle up to 16,000 parcels per hour. The company has also strengthened its presence in Galicia with a new operational platform in Sada (A Coruña), covering 2,500 m² and able to process up to 12,000 parcels a day.

In Andalusia, GLS Spain has expanded its infrastructure with a new facility in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz), offering more than 3,700 m² of operational space.

These developments further strengthen a national network comprising nearly 600 partner agencies and company-owned centres, with the aim of responding to business growth and new market demands.

Greater proximity and flexibility in the last mile

The expansion of Out of Home solutions was another major highlight of the financial year. GLS Spain now has more than 10,500 collection points across Spain, consolidating a network that gives recipients flexible alternatives for sending and collecting their parcels.

During the financial year, the company delivered more than 20 million parcels through its Out of Home network, representing growth of over 14% compared with the previous year. In addition, one in every five deliveries is now made through parcel shops and smart lockers.

This progress has been supported by new strategic partnerships aimed at expanding the network’s reach. These include an agreement with Galp to deploy more than 150 smart lockers at service stations and a collaboration with Carrefour, with a potential reach of more than 10 million users.

These initiatives are complemented by the project developed with Metro de Madrid, which includes the installation of smart lockers at all 19 stations on Line 3, integrating parcel collection into people’s everyday journeys.

Innovation and digitalisation to improve the customer experience

Technology has continued to play a key role in the evolution of GLS Spain’s operating model. During the financial year, the company continued to develop its digital ecosystem to optimise processes, improve efficiency and provide a service experience that is increasingly agile and tailored to customers’ needs.

In this area, GLS Spain has driven the development of artificial intelligence capabilities through its CX & Sales AI Hub in Spain, with initiatives designed to automate processes, improve information management and strengthen data-driven decision-making.

Digitalisation and innovation are therefore becoming established as fundamental elements of the company’s strategy, alongside the modernisation of its infrastructure and the expansion of its last-mile solutions.

Commitment to sustainability and responsible management

Beyond operational and technological progress, the 2025/2026 Sustainability Report also reflects GLS Spain’s commitment to managing its business responsibly. The document sets out the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, as well as its main initiatives in these areas, the management of its impacts, risks and opportunities, and the progress of the indicators used to assess its achievements.

Two decades of growth in the Spanish market

The 2025/2026 financial year coincides with the 20th anniversary of GLS Spain. Over the past two decades, the company has expanded its geographical presence and evolved its logistics model to adapt to market changes and new consumer habits.

GLS Spain currently has a network of more than 10,500 collection points, nearly 600 partner agencies and company-owned centres, and a team of more than 1,900 professionals.

The progress set out in the Sustainability Report reflects the continuation of this evolution, with a strategy focused on strengthening operational capacity, bringing parcel services closer to recipients and promoting technological solutions that contribute to more efficient logistics.
