Madrid, October 8, 2025 – GLS Spain has signed a collaboration agreement with the Red Cross with the aim of fostering solidarity and promoting access to education and culture among vulnerable groups in Spain.
Through this partnership, GLS Spain will make its expertise and logistics capabilities available to the Red Cross to support the social inclusion projects the organisation carries out across the country. The cooperation will mainly take the form of solidarity transport, both in emergency situations and in the transfer of goods between different branches, supporting initiatives focused on children, young people and people at risk of social exclusion.
Active collaboration in solidarity campaigns
The cooperation with the Red Cross has taken shape through various solidarity initiatives, such as the transport of toys from the Red Cross Youth Campaign, collected in Madrid and delivered to Pontevedra, as well as the delivery of materials provided by GLS Spain to the organisation in January. In addition, the company made a financial contribution of €50,000 to support people affected by the DANA weather event. Thanks to the combined contributions of individuals and different organisations, total funds raised reached €60,000, reinforcing GLS Spain’s commitment to providing immediate assistance in emergency situations.
Commitment to humanitarian logistics
Representatives from GLS Spain visited the Red Cross Logistics Centre in Leganés (Madrid), where they gained first-hand insight into the procedures activated by the organisation in emergency situations. Through this alliance, the company reaffirms its commitment to placing logistics at the service of solidarity, multiplying the social impact of its actions.
“At GLS Spain, we firmly believe in social responsibility as an essential part of our business. This agreement with the Red Cross allows us not only to contribute financial resources, but also to share our logistics expertise to support those who need it most,” said Félix Biedma, Senior ESG, Corporate Responsibility & Compliance Manager at GLS Spain.
