GLS Spain celebrates its 2025 Agency Convention as part of its 20th anniversary, driving the transformation of the parcel delivery sector in Spain

Madrid, October 27, 2025 – Last Saturday, October 25, GLS Spain held its 2025 Agency Convention at the Marriott Auditorium Hotel in Madrid, a gathering that held special significance this year as it coincided with the company’s 20th anniversary in Spain.

Under the slogan “This is our moment!”, the event paid tribute to two decades of shared growth and transformation. In an energetic and emotional format, GLS Spain turned its convention into a real recording studio — the “GLS Studio” — where the voices of the agency network, corporate teams and company executives came together to compose a shared soundtrack: that of a company looking to the future without losing its essence.

During the event, the main milestones of the 2024/25 financial year were reviewed, and the strategic priorities that will shape the company’s growth in the coming years were presented: digitalisation and artificial intelligence, operational efficiency, new investments in infrastructure, expansion of the convenience point network (lockers and ParcelShops), strengthening of the agency network model and progress in sustainability.

Speakers on stage included Karl Pfaff, CEO of GLS Group; Luis Doncel, Group Area Managing Director Europe West; and Roberto Martínez, Managing Director of GLS Spain, together with representatives from the agency network and corporate teams. During his speech, Karl Pfaff highlighted the importance of international expansion as one of the Group’s key growth drivers:

“With an increasing presence in North America and strategic partnerships in Asia, we are evolving our offering from a European delivery service into a truly global operator. Our portfolio currently covers shipments to and from 50 countries, supported by a network that seamlessly connects Europe, North America and Asia. This vision strengthens our position as an integrated logistics partner and sets a benchmark for international excellence in an increasingly interconnected market.”

Roberto Martínez underlined “the pride of having built, together with our agency network, a company that today is a benchmark for innovation, reliability and service quality for our customers and recipients. We are a future-ready partner, capable of adapting to and leading the constant changes in our market.”

The event also served to recognise the best-performing agencies of the year and to share progress on major new infrastructure projects that will strengthen the GLS Spain network in the years ahead. With more than 11,500 ParcelShops and Lockers and presence across all autonomous communities, the company reaffirmed its commitment to continued growth in convenience points and to promoting a more innovative, efficient and sustainable parcel delivery model throughout Spain.

Peak: the heartbeat that accelerates the GLS network

Each year, the parcel delivery sector reaches its most intense moment during Peak, the period of maximum activity. In 2025, GLS Spain is facing its most ambitious Peak yet, with forecasts of exceeding one million daily shipments on the busiest days.

During those weeks, thousands of people — couriers, agencies, corporate teams and partners — synchronise their efforts to ensure that every parcel reaches its destination. It is the heartbeat of a network that pulses in unison, driven by coordination, technology and human commitment.

“Peak is our greatest team challenge of the year. It demands the very best from us, but it also reminds us of what we are capable of achieving when we work together,” said Roberto Martínez, Managing Director of GLS Spain.

With a network of more than 550 agencies, new strategic infrastructures and over 11,500 convenience points, GLS Spain faces the coming years with the energy, experience and passion that define its 20 years of history — a future that sounds, just like its own convention, to the rhythm of collaboration, innovation and shared growth.
