The purposes and legal basis for processing your personal data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • For training of employees in GLS
  • To improve the customer experience
  • To improve GLS' services, including deliveries and communication

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data follows from:

  • Our processing is based on the pursuit of legitimate interest, cf. Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation with regard to the processing of information about employees and processing for statistical purposes.
  • In addition, our processing is based on consent, cf. Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, as all external customers who actively use our telephone system must consider whether they wish to consent to the recording of the call.3 Legitimate interests pursued by the processing

Legitimate interests pursued by the processing

As mentioned above, our processing of your personal data is partly based on the balancing of interests rule in Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

  • Empowerment of employees, continuous development of the employee's skills
  • Improvement of the customer experience
  • To provide better guidance to both customers and employees
  • To document any agreements and conversations

Categories of personal data

We process the following categories of personal data about you:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Telephone number
  • Telephone conversation
  • As well as the information you provide during the phone call.
  • Package number

Recipients or categories of recipients

We disclose or transfer your personal data to the following recipients:

  • Service providers, including, for example, providers of IT solutions and solutions for collecting statistics and user reviews

Where your personal data originates from

We generally receive the information directly from you. We receive information about parcel information from the sender of the parcel.

Storage of your personal data

The recordings are generally deleted after 90 days, although some selected audio files are stored for an additional 180 days.

If there is a legitimate reason to store information for a longer period of time, this may be done, including if it is necessary to establish a legal claim or for the sake of a pending case.

The right to withdraw consent

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us at the contact information stated above in section 1.

If you choose to withdraw your consent, it will not affect the lawfulness of our processing of your personal data based on your previously given consent and up to the time of withdrawal.

Therefore, if you withdraw your consent, it will only take effect from that point in time.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights in relation to our processing of information about you.

The right to see data (right of access)

You have the right to access the data we process about you, as well as a range of additional information.

Right to rectification (rectification)

You have the right to have incorrect information about yourself corrected.

Right to erasure

In special cases, you have the right to have information about you erased before the time of our regular general erasure occurs.

Right to restriction of processing

In certain cases, you have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted. If you have the right to restrict processing, we may in future only process the data - except for storage - with your consent, or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, or to protect a person or important public interests.

Right to object

In certain cases, you have the right to object to our or lawful processing of your personal data.

You may also object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.

Right to transmit data (data portability)

In certain cases, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have this personal data transmitted from one data controller to another without hindrance.

Complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency
