Why do we opt for emission offsetting?
This is an intermediate phase that continues in parallel with the reduction phase and will last until a total elimination of CO2 emissions ideally planned for 2045.
How do we offset emissions?
Implementing forest conservation projects and installing renewable energy plants through partnerships with specialised and certified agencies in the sector.
How is compensation funded?
Attraverso il contributo «Climate Protect» applicato ai clienti che hanno aderito al programma. Il contributo sarà destinato in parte per progetti di compensazione e in parte per investimenti volti a ridurre le emissioni di Co2 delle nostre attività.
What benefits does the customer have?
The customer will be part of the project and will receive a compensation certificate that he can spend on the market.
Climate Partner
The investment in offset projects is made in cooperation with ClimatePartner, a multinational company specialising in the implementation of carbon offset projects. Their work includes project management and the issuing of certificates to GLS and its Climate Protect customers.

Madre de Dios, Peru - GLS supports a project to protect 100,000 hectares
and working with local people to help manage the land sustainably.
Pacajá, Brazil - GLS is committed to providing support
to prevent deforestation of the Amazon rainforest through land tenure rights.
Bhadla, India - The 'Solar Energy' project makes it possible to produce energy from renewable sources
The solar park built covers 140 hectares of land and provides 416,000 MW/h of clean energy to the grid each year
Gadhsisa, India - GLS supports a wind power project
which reduces dependence on fossil fuels and includes several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
