More about the shipping calculator

The GLS shipping calculator is so to speak a parcel postage calculator and allows you to work out in advance how much sending a parcel will cost. The shipping calculator is easy to use. A parcel for dispatch within the Republic of Ireland may weigh up to 30 kg, for shipment abroad a maximum of 40 kg. However, with GLS the price will not be based on the weight but on the size. There are five different size categories: XS, S, M, L and XL. After you have measured your parcel, simply enter the dimensions into the shipping calculator.

The calculator automatically determines the size category. You also specify the place of dispatch (i.e. the place where you wish to hand over your parcel) and the destination. The shipping calculator will then display the postage rate for delivering your parcel, as well as how long delivery is expected to take – useful additional information for your dispatch planning.
