Recipients choose – GLS delivers
Date, location and more
Recipients select and influence delivery according to their wishes. Before and while a parcel is still on its way, GLS offers a wide range of delivery options. This way the recipient receives ordered goods quickly and easily.
The delivery options are available as soon the recipient receives an e-mail by GLS with information about the parcel. GLS lets the recipient know when the order is likely to arrive. Then the recipient knows if someone is there that day to accept the parcel.
If this is not the case, the next steps are very simple: the recipient clicks on the link in the e-mail gives direct access to the delivery options for the parcel.

Choose a delivery date
The recipient can select a specific date. Five working days after the dispatch date are available for selection. A time frame for the selected delivery date is given. When the option “Delivery on a defined day” is selected and confirmed, GLS will deliver on the desired day.
Delivery to a GLS ParcelShop
The recipient can select a GLS ParcelShop and have the parcel delivered there directly. At the ParcelShop, there is always somebody present to accept the consignment. A GLS ParcelShop can be chosen directly online, for example a shop located on the way to work.
GLS ParcelShops have customer-friendly opening hours and recipients can collect the parcel it suits best. The parcel is stored for up to five working days. After chosing the option “Delivery to a GLS ParcelShop”, the desired GLS ParcelShop can be selected. GLS will redirect the parcel and deliver it to the desired ParcelShop when the choice is confirmed.
Pick up at a GLS depot
The recipient can choose to pick up the parcel at a GLS depot. The parcel then remains in the depot responsible for the delivery address and is available for collection for up to five working days. After this time, the parcel is returned to the sender. After choosing the option “Pick up at a GLS depot” and receiving the confirmation, GLS will store the parcel safely.
The recipient can refuse acceptance of a consignment online, even before delivery. This could for example be considered, if the recipient has not ordered goods or if the order has been withdrawn. After clicking on the option “Refuse acceptance" a confirmation will be received and GLS will transport the parcel back to the sender.
