Limerick Depot Manager

We are currently looking for a Limerick Depot Manager to manage our Depot in Annacotty, Limerick.

This role focuses on providing and maintaining excellent service to new and existing customers via day-to-day management of team. As a manager you will liaise primarily with drivers, subcontractors and a small team of employees. You will provide support when necessary to customer queries and work with the customer service department in fulfilling the needs of clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Organise & plan delivery tours to meet expected quality level
  • Measure and monitor driver and sub-contractor performance and provide operational control
  • Coordinate customer pick-ups, receipts and deliveries, involving communication to customers, sub-contractors and other company departments when necessary
  • Troubleshoot any problems and follow through to resolution, support given when necessary
  • Work with Internal system, Gepard, to ensure proper inventory controls for parcels and ensure all records are sufficiently up-to-date
  • Organise depot reports (Daily/Weekly) as required
  • Identify, develop and implement improvements within the Depot, meaning the role requires proficiency in all aspects and strive to constantly improve services
  • Undertake new tasks, in line with business development
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and depots within GLS Ireland network
  • Ensure company issues are effectively worked in a timely manner
  • Ensure all aspects of Security, GDP and Health & Safety as per Company guide lines are adhered to
  • Provide excellent customer service skills at all times both on the phone and in person
  • Preparation for Depot Audits
  • Involvement with the rollout of new operating systems and equipment when required
  • Digitalization manifest standard and manual
  • Booking COD’s
  • Depot ParcelShop Customer Service and cash handling
  • Preparing monthly cash spreadsheets and making cash lodgements to the bank
  • Key holder for the premises
  • Assist sales team with query’s, issues and new customers
  • Carry out IT tasks including supporting IT department
  • Holiday cover
  • The warehouse to be kept tidy at all times all pallets and unused cages to be paced in the required area to insure a clean and workable work space
  • Trace reporting and answering across internal systems

Skills and Experience:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a Warehousing/Transport/Distribution
  • Ability to lead and influence
  • Fluent English
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to learn and work on own initiative

Preferred:

Previous experience in Parcels/Distribution/Services industry is a bonus but not required
