Strong in Europe – top in quality

With its road-based network, GLS is one of the leading parcel service providers in Europe. Over 70 central and regional transhipment points throughout Europe and more than 1,000 depots are at the disposal of GLS.

Modern distribution centres are linked to each other via line hauls. About 26,000 vehicles are on Europe’s roads for GLS on a daily basis. In addition, the Group uses air freight connections. Dense national networks ensure the reliable delivery of shipments in the countries.

Quality in parcel service has top priority for the Group – over 270,000 customers rely on it. In the process, GLS puts great emphasis on sustainability: The ThinkGreen initiative consolidates all Europe-wide activities to protect the environment.

The clear commitment to Europe and to quality is reflected in the milestones of the company history and the philosophy of GLS.

Reliable partnerships

Across Europe and beyond: GLS covers 41 European countries and seven U.S. states with its parcel services. While the majority is served via own subsidiaries, GLS cooperates with reliable partners in several other states. All partners comply with the high quality standards of GLS. They have insights and knowledge of their respective markets.

The GLS network is complemented by affiliated companies, which often extend the services of the GLS subsidiaries. For example, the express parcel delivery company ASM Transporte Urgente (ASM) strengthens the network of GLS in Spain by adding further capacities and experience in the business-to-consumer segment. In California, GLS is owner of the regional next day parcel service Golden State Overnight Delivery Service Inc. (GSO), a leading provider of regional next day delivery services.
