- an important service in parcel distribution
”The great thing about working as a Store Manager of a GLS ParcelShop, is that a great day at work is every day, because we meet so many positive and joyous people, who are looking forward to receiving their parcels. This is why it is important to me, that the staff has a great relationship to each other, as the joy we get from our work, will reflect onto our customers.
We agree that we are here to give our customers great service and we greet every customer with a smile – Something that we get a lot of positive feedback for, which is an awesome thing to get.I love going to work each day, as happy people and positive energy surround me. We are busy, so a workday goes by fast! This is why it is important to be able to have an overview of the situation, when there are many things going on. It means a lot that management is always willing to listen and takes my staff and I serious, when we come with suggestions."
At GLS, we service our external ParcelShops and ensure that they are able to provide good service to our customers and recipients. A team of highly dedicated ParcelShop consultants perform this task based in our local depots.
They refer centrally to our ParcelShop Manager and meet regularly at our head office to be updated on new initiatives and fill up the car with the latest materials. If you thrive in a highly service-minded role where you have to plan your workday yourself, then you might be our next consultant.
“One of my main tasks as an Area Manager is to lead the Store Managers, who are the faces of GLS and are the foundation for the day to day operations of their stores. My team consists of many different types of people, so there is a balance in ensuring that we are all working to reach the same goal, while ensuring that each individuals own personalities still shines through.
There are many joys in my job, but it is my colleagues, who makes the difference: Their success is my success, and seeing the store managers take co-responsibility and ownership for the stores and the initiatives that we make together brings me great joy. I know what the logo on my shirt represents – I am both proud and happy to be a part of that.”
With more than 1.600 ParcelShops in Denmark we provide personal parcel delivery to recipients all over Denmark.
Due to population density in some areas of Denmark, it is necessary to have extra capacity for sending and receiving parcels - like in Copenhagen.
