GLS supports: sport and society
Setting new records – side by side
As an athletics record holder, Julian Reus is all about speed and success, just like his new partner GLS Germany. GLS has been supporting the multiple German Championship winner since April 2018. In the 4 x 100 m relay, he won silver at the European Championships in 2012 and 2014, as well as bronze in 2016.
By sponsoring Julian Reus, GLS is strengthening its commitment to athletics.
Reaching for glory together
Standing out from the competition through excellence is what puts GLS and competitive sports on the same playing field. That is why GLS will also continue its commitment to support top-level sports in Germany. As title sponsor of the German Track and Field Association (Deutscher Leichtathletik-Verband; DLV), GLS has been supporting the world's largest athletics federation, counting over 850,000 members, since the beginning of 2017.
GLS with football fever
With the European Championships taking place, 2016 was a good year for football fans. GLS loves the team sport, too. We sponsored several training camps for up to 800 children in Baden-Württemberg and Berlin this year to support youth football in Germany.
Ten runners, five countries, one good cause
Sport is good for your health. But it’s even better if you can do some good for others at the same time. GLS regularly supports charity sports events, such as the North Cape charity run in June 2016. The ten runners from the Harz region completed a route of over 2,700 kilometres from Germany to the most northerly point in Norway. The surplus funds from all the proceeds and donations went straight to “Elternhilfe für das krebskranke Kind Göttingen e.V.”.
GLS also financially supported the “Aktion Spenderherz” campaign. In the process, GLS financed 50 starting places each in the Cologne Marathon, which took place in early October 2015, and the Frankfurt Marathon in late October 2015. The proceeds from the charity runs went to two seriously ill children.
Group-wide commitment to fairness and health
The GLS Group will continue its involvement in sporting campaigns and social projects in future, be it financially or with logistical expertise.
