FlexDeliveryService available in Luxembourg

News 24/04/2015

Parcel recipients in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg can now influence time and place of national and international deliveries according to their personal requirements.

The surcharge-free FlexDeliveryService makes it possible for recipients to change the delivery date, select a different address, or have their parcel handed over to a GLS ParcelShop of their choice. GLS informs the addressee by email of the pending delivery – giving the date and the expected time window. Without registration, the various options can then be selected via a link in the email.

Shortly before the introduction of the FlexDeliveryService the GLS country website went live, making it possible for the 550,000 residents to use the service. If the sender has activated the surcharge-free service, GLS will notify the recipient by email of the pending delivery in advance – giving the delivery date and the expected time window. “We respond to the wishes of the recipients, something that is particularly important in internet retailing.” says Anne Putz, Head of Corporate Communication of the GLS Group. This way, cross-border online shopping will become easier for Luxembourgers and everyone who shops with Luxembourg’s internet retailers.

Introduction of FlexDeliveryService across Europe

GLS Luxembourg is the 13th country offering the service across Europe. Moreover, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Poland are already fully interconnected via integrated IT solutions.
